Meals at Karkloof Safari Spa are freshly prepared daily by our team of chefs, who only use ingredients that are locally sourced (from our farm and neighbouring farms). The menu changes daily and meals are all inclusive and tailor-made to accommodate different dietary requirements.
All menus have a raw food option. Raw food is a vegan diet, consisting of raw plant foods that have not been heated above 47 °C. Foods cooked above this temperature have lost much of their nutritional value and are less healthful (sometimes they are even harmful to the body). Typical foods included in raw food diets are fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and sprouted grains and legumes.
We also cater for gluten-free diets. We make our own gluten-free bread and muffins and ensure that menus are gluten free if required.
Vegan & vegetarian
We design menus specifically for vegan or vegetarian individuals, as needed. The guest will receive a menu that is entirely vegan or vegetarian, rather than just having a vegan or vegetarian option on a menu.
The meat we use is supplied by a halaal butchery and stored separately from other food stuffs. Halaal meals are prepared in a separate kitchen, specially allocated for the purpose.
Kosher meals can be supplied.
